Our idea based in our team was to make a animation about the turtle Snorkel from the national marine aquarium. The back story behind this creature was that Snorkel, most likely lived in Australasian waters when a storm hit which caused snorkel and her family to drift off into open water. within a good few days Snorkel and her family was washed up on the coast of Cornwall, Shortly after, a group of people saved the turtles and brought them to a marine centre where they looked after and tested the turtles to see if they were in good health, all where fine, apart from Snorkel, she became blind and unfit to be just put back in the ocean, so they let all the other turtles go, and brought Snorkel to the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, and she's lived there ever since.
So, we had our story brief done, now onto design planning and development, I was head of Photography, coding and scripting, Lewis was in charge of concept sketches, storyboarding, and tweening and motion in the flash animation. while Alex was ion charge of Spelling and Grammar checking, beta testing, Graphics, and the Power point Presentation, which all is described very well by this Time Plan that Alex made:
When we pitched our idea to our client, it seemed that we where all very nervous but honestly there wasn't any need to be, The clients responses where very positive and the only parts that where negative where very minor and where things that could be done quickly and without any hassle, for example the occasional spelling error. Directly after the presentation I started the Production of the animation by creating a working intro screen with a interactive button and a peaceful underwater sound. Lewis also began Creating assets for flash for me so I can animate them in. while Alec began to create this time plan that is above. annoyingly in the first week of production we lost our work to a Flash error that caused the program to crash, but fortunately by the second week of production we got a Massive amount of work accomplished, after the beta tastings the we noticed multiple glitches that wasn't accounted for during production which took up one week to completely fix the bugs, I did have some slight problems with the tweening which lewis helped me with and even worse the animation became quite a large file which kept crashing if we tried saving it and or if the program auto saved. the file actually became up to one hundred and twenty one Megabytes in size. when the animation was complete, we had another presentation to perform in front of our client, in which we had to show off our work, The client did like our main character design for snorkel or in her own words, she thought it was "Cute". There where a few more bugs that needed to be fixed and then the entire project was complete,
